In June 2025, recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in Texas are scheduled to receive their benefits in a staggered manner.

These benefits are distributed monthly from the 1st to the 28th, based on the last two digits of the recipient's Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number.

Payment Adjustments

If a household's application was approved but the full benefit amount wasn't issued within the application month, the initial payment might be combined with the next month's payment. This sum will then be deposited as a single payment into the recipient's Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) account.

Moreover, it's crucial to remember that the benefits must be issued within 40 days from the previous payment date. For those whose applications were approved after this 40-day window, an adjustment period might be established during the first benefit delivery until the payments align with their regular schedule.

  • June 22 and June 23
  • June 24: For EDG numbers ending in 82 - 85
  • June 25
  • June 26: For EDG numbers ending in 89 - 92
  • June 27: For EDG numbers ending in 93 - 95
  • June 29

Previous Certification and Benefit Schedule

Households that were certified before May 1, 2023, will continue on their original benefit issuance schedule. This schedule is determined by the initial certification date, unless assistance was not received for at least six months. If assistance was resumed after such a break, they might be assigned a new schedule.

Eligibility for Texas SNAP

The program targets low-income families and individuals who meet specific requirements. Generally, adults aged 18 to 52 without dependent children are eligible for SNAP benefits for up to three months within a three-year period.

This period might be extended if the individual is employed for at least 20 hours a week or is participating in an employment or training program. Exemptions exist for those with disabilities or who are pregnant.

Payment Amounts

The amount of SNAP benefits a family in Texas can receive depends on their income and family size. Here's a brief breakdown:

  • 1 person: $2,005
  • 2 people: $2,712
  • 3 people: $3,419
  • 4 people: $4,125
  • 5 people: $4,832
  • For each additional member, $707 is added to the total benefit amount.
